Band Shirts At Concerts

So I thought I'd make a topic about this. Some people think that if you wear a t-shirt of the band you're going to see that night, it's immature.

I mean, why does it matter? Do you think that band really has time to care about what you're wearing? I think people just say this to look cool in front of other fans. I mean all in all, it's just a damn shirt.

Post your opinions on this.

I believe that if you are there to have fun then it should not matter what other people think. However, if you are trying to meet the band/artist then you should refrain from wearing their merch as it makes it seem like you are trying to be a groopie...

Its one thing for you to walk in to a room where your favorite artist is and just act casually like its not a big deal, this will help them feel more relaxed about your presence... Walking in with a shirt that screams out groopie, and you act like a psycho every time you shake their hand... I guarantee you will not like what happens next...

Let's put it this way... if you are sitting down talking to people, and someone barges in with your name on a shirt and starts yelling how much they love you and how much they want to be your friend... how would you react?

Now, I happened to have a Weird Al White and Nerdy Hoodie when NOES and I met him, but, 1) How was I supposed to know I would get to meet him? 2) I stayed as cool as I possibly could to compensate for it... So...

I say, if you are trying to meet them, keep your cool, and don't wear their merch...

I wore my See You On The Other Side cd cover shirt to the FV tour and it was fine.
It just lets the rock stars know how famous they are I mean if they see themselves on shirts or whatever they are like "Wow,I am in another person's life and I make them feel good and all this other stuff"

Yeah it's good to wear a band's shirt so they feel appreciated. But I think the best way to show them you care is to treat them with respect like Nimrod God said.

It just adds points toward the opposite feeling you really should want to give off.. but if you keep cool you can give out the "I just apreciate you enough to buy a 25 dollar shirt after paying 80 bucks to see you" vibe

all that bands i've spoken too, they more so just appreciate you paying the money to go see them play.

but i don't see a problem with wearing the bands shirt to their show. more often than not you've bought the merch with their name on it anyway and you're wearing that. if anything though, wear ANOTHER band shirt, you'd probably make more friends that way, waiting in line. it'd just be like 'hey, i like them too!'
