Hello Nimrods, how has your day been so far?
Joe Satriani has claimed that rock band, Coldplay has plagiarized his past material. The guitarist accuses them of stealing a riff from the instrumental song, "If I Could Fly" from his 2004 album, "Is There Love In Space?"
Chris Martin and the rest of his crew have posted this short, and sweet note on their official website:
With the greatest possible respect to Joe Satriani, we have unfortunately found it necessary to respond to his allegations. If there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are entirely coincidental, and just as surprising to us as to him. Joe Satriani is a great musician, but he did not write or have any influence on the song Viva La Vida. We respectfully ask him to accept our assurance of this and wish him well with future endeavors. Coldplay You can read the letter right here.
This song is nominated for a Grammy award for song of the year. We wish them the best of luck! I happened to find a video comparing the two songs together. You be the judge of it!

Viva La Coldplay.these gentlemen.
A traffic jam, when you're already late
A "No smoking" sign, on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons, when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic?
Don't you think?
