Taylor Swift Reaps Benefits from the Kanye West Fiasco

After Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's moment at the Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift is finally having her moment to shine. Since the Kanye West episode, celebrities and fans alike have rushed to
her defense. According to MSNBC, Taylor Swift is "blown away by all the love that was thrown in my direction" and feels "very lucky and blessed to have people come and support me like that."

After the Kanye West episode, Taylor Swift has found friends in Janet Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, and Twilight's Taylor Lautner. The morning after the VMAs, Taylor Swift woke up to find flowers from Janet Jackson. Later, according to People Magazine, Kelly Clarkson wrote an angry blog in defense of Taylor Swift. Kelly Clarkson called Kanye West a "sad human being." She went on to praise Beyonce for her class. She also suggested that Kanye West was bitter against Taylor Swift because she was outselling him. There are also rumors that Twilight's Taylor Lautner has a crush on Swift.

The 19-year-old was surprised to see such an outpouring of support after the Kanye West episode. She never assumed that these high-profile celebrities were familiar with her or her work. She even received an apology from Kanye West.

While episodes such as the Kanye West fiasco and the Serena Williams foot fault outburst are unfortunate, I always like to believe that everything happens for a reason and that nice people will eventually have their moments to shine. After retirement, marriage, family, a comeback, and the Serena Williams episode, Kim Clijsters' delayed victory was perhaps even sweeter.Throughout Taylor Swift's young career, she has consistently been able to make lemons from lemonade. Although Kanye West had ruined her moment of glory, she's found support and friends in unexpected places. This is reminiscent of her break-up with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas. After Joe Jonas dumped her over a 20-second phone call, she was vindicated when her record sales soared through the roof, even surpassing the popular Jonas Brothers.
