So I have loved this band since I got the album, Good News For People Who Love Bad News. After hearing "Float On," it quickly became a favorite of mine. Another favorite of mine is "Ocean Breathes Salty" off the same album. This video is wicked awesome, yet very sad. What are your thoughts?

Hello Nimrods, how are you doing?
Modest Mouse have a special treat for their fans! Today they will release the music video for their newest single, "King Rat" on Myspace Music. The unveiling of the music video coincides with the release of their newest EP, "No One's First And Then You're Next".
The animated video was directed by late actor Heath Ledger before his untimely death in early 2008. Ledger came up with the video's concept to raise awareness for whales that are being hunted for commercial use. Although he was unable to to finish the video, the actor was a partner for video company The Masses who put in the final touches on in his honor.
Those who purchase the video from the US iTunes store in the first month of its release, will help raise money towards the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. They are a Non-Profit organization committed to ending the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans.
In other related Modest Mouse news, The Washington Times posted their own review of some of their tracks. The Times say that the Seattle natives are not allowing fame and glory to change their style. "Of all the indie rock bands ever to embrace and be embraced by mainstream success, Modest Mouse may be the truest to its own roots". The EP contains b-sides and 7-inch vinyl singles collected over the past few years that includes one track dating back from 2004, "I've Got It All (Most)".
"For the casual Modest Mouse fan (the kind that doesn't collect 7-inch vinyl singles at live shows), "No One's First and You're Next" gives more than scraps from the cutting room floor".
Update: Here is the video that premiered on Myspace Music yesterday, enjoy!
