They recently just got a new lead singer, but their song on their MySpace 'Transformer' is him (Andrew) singing.
Let's see, they'll be releasing their new ep sometime April.
THE NEW NAME IS AMBER CALLING.

919 are changing their name!

here's the blog:
"Just because everything is different doesn't mean anything has changed."919 started in 2005 and since then we have enjoyed a fantastic ride, we're proud of what we have been able to achieve to date, but believe that we are only just getting started. We're just starting to write our best material and truly gelling as a band. Having said that, we have all come to the conclusion that our name, whilst having served us well does not truly reflect where we see the band developing from here. So we have decided to kick this year off with some dramatic change. As of Sunday January 6th we are dropping 919 in favour of a new name. Before you ask, nope we're not about to reveal it yet, you're gunna have to wait until Sunday for that.
Now we know that there is going to be 3 possible reactions to the change:
1. Some of you are going to love it (most of you we hope)
2. Others will be nonplussed about it
3. The rest of you are going to dislike the new name
The truth though is that we have to be happy with our name and hope that all of you will give the new name time and continue to support us and in fact continue to recommend us to your friends.The reasons for change are many, firstly we feel that 919 as a name is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Secondly we will be launching our new EP in April and touring nationally so its makes sense to do it now and get everyone used to it before we tour the hell out of this country.
Anyway this bulletin is getting too long so come by and let us know what you think.

It was suggested it was going to be Andrew And The Bumblebees.
But yeah, i knew them back with the old lead singer. Mike. They've changed quite a lot, it's working well for them actually.
That bumblebees name would've been horrible.

It's going to be a 7th on Saturday night, when it's Australia day. =)
A free show with another one of my favourite bands The Scissor File and then they're having an outdoor movie session, so i'll hang out with Amber Calling again. =)
This time i got photos, i nimrod.ed out my face because i think i look like a tool.
the person with me is my best friend Sarah, who i hadn't seen since June last year and i saw her for the first time since then last night. =)

Okay, some news i'm not so happy about.
Andrew's been kicked out the band. I'm not sure what went down, I hope to find that out if i see him next week.
But anyway, Mike - the old lead singer as I've stated had to pull out of the band about 5 months ago, in which Andrew was a permanent replacement.
Apparently Mike has been given the all clear by the doctors with his throat, which is what was bugging him in the first place. Basically now, Amber Calling have their old singer back, and Andrew is no longer in the band. Andrew's looking for a couple of guitar players and a bass player for a new band. I'll keep you lot updated on that if it matters with anyone.
The EP will be released May 7th. I'm pretty certain you'll be able to order it online and have it mailed to you, worldwide. Apparently anyway. Amber Calling have never been one for living to their words.
Basically not everyone's happy about Andrew's departure - especially me, because i'm pretty great friends with Andrew, but hopefully he'll do better when he gets a band up and running. =)

I've heard the songs on their Myspace and it is really good. I'm glad we're friends with them on MS. How'd they find out about us tho? They did send us a friend request!
