Earth Hour 2009

Hello everyone on Nimrod Street and happy weekend to you all!

Today is the day we hold our fists up high and urge others to do the same. Yes, my friends it is Earth Hour 2009 once again. If you have seen Green Day's website recently, you already saw a huge banner from World Wildlife Fund.

Basically Earth Hour is turning off your lights for exactly an hour to make a statement about climate change. It also shows commitment to finding solutions. They're asking every individual, government officials, organizations and business to take part all over the world.

The time frame will be from 8:30-9:30 local time, not a long time to wait huh? If you would like to participate, go to EarthHourUS.org and sign up. After that, you'll fill in all your necessary information: name, city, zip code, state, and your mobile phone number. There will also be a separate form for your school and business to take place, sweet!

When you're done registering, you'll be directed to a petition that will be sent out out to President Barack Obama and other Senators and Representatives in your area. I have already done my part and it got sent out to the following:

* President Barack Obama
* Senator Bill Nelson
* Senator Mel Martinez
* Governor Charles "Charlie" Crist
* Senator Lee Constantine
* Representative Suzanne M. Kosmas
* Representative Scott Plakon

Wow, talk about amazing! Taking a stand for the environment is going to make a huge difference no matter how small your contribution is. It's all well worth it, let's stand up for what we believe in and stand up for what's right!

Also, don't forget to add WWF on Myspace, they have a boat load of information for you to check out. I leave you now with a video called, "The Earth Hour 2009 Movie". Enjoy it everyone!

SYDNEY AUSTARALIA is mentioned.
But yeah I think this is a good idea.
I already did this for like what 3 hours this morning cause I was gone.
Does that count for Earth Hour?

I was already telling NOES... No.. that does not count... the point is to make an impact on the amount of energy being utilized in that hour. If its done at the same time as everyone else around you, the amount of energy being pulled as a community would be significantly lower.

I'm at work and it's 4 minutes past Earth Hour... I didn't even turn off the lights... I have literally hundreds of servers and computers around me... no point in even trying.

The Almighty creator of All has spoken, Amen
