Dave Matthews announces Tour dates

A massive Dave Matthews Band tour was announced this morning. It will run from May through August, culminating in a three-night residency at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre (with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings opening, no less!) in early September. Full itinerary is listed below.

The official pre-sale for tickets starts TODAY at noon EST and will be available to Dave Matthews Band fan clubm members (go to http://www.warehouse.davematthewsband.com). Otherwise, the general public on-sale will be March 29.

Matthews will be promoting his forthcoming, as-yet-untitled album, which the band is finishing up right now with producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Alanis Morissette). Guitarist and longtime Matthews friend Tim Reynolds is playing on the album. The band: Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar), LeRoi Moore (saxophone) and Boyd Tinsley (violin).

Also, Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk, an upcoming MacGillivray Freeman Films release for IMAX Theatres and IMAX 3D Theatres, will feature songs and music from Dave Matthews Band. Bassist Stefan Lessard composed and arranged the film's musical score with longtime MacGillivray Freeman collaborator Steve Wood, and the pair recruited Carter Beauford, Boyd Tinsley and Tim Reynolds to play on the score. The film is to raise awareness about world water issues and will premiere on March 14th, in anticipation of World Water Day (March 22nd).
