I personally believe the whole movie adaptation thing is good. Gives the green ones a chance to get good stories.

Second... My favorite musical by far is Sweeny Todd, and its been beautifully done by Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.
I agree however, that there are many musicals that are fun that people just don't care to watch! I personally want to see Avenue Q and Wicked on film... Haven't seen them, and haven't had the chance to read Wicked (even though I have the book. Of course that makes way for Son of a Witch as well...
Anyone else care to add to this?
I use to love Wizard Of Oz and Shirley Temple. But yeah, Avenue Q looks awesome!!

I'm a pretty huge fan of Tim Burton, I agree with God here, Sweeny Todd was great, and Johnny Depp really surprised me with his singing capabilities.
I haven't really had a chance to watch musicals though.
Not a big musical fan, the constant songs every other minute annoyed the crap out of me even growing up watching Disney. I do admit, very few are ok....Nightmare Before Christmas is always a favorite of mine.

A lot of people here don't like musicals. Although most of them don't have a reason, they just think it's lame. I live in a very inartistic place.
But, I tend to lean more toward things like Wicked, and RENT. I really love the Wizard of OZ and, so far, Wicked.
Cry Baby was a good movie, but I didn't like that Johnny didn't sing in it, because I know that he can sing.
Sweeney Todd and RHPS have one major flaw, but I still love them, and that's the whole eating people thing.
I really think I want to see Cabaret, although my friend said it wasn't so great.

Which would be exactly why it's good. Disney itself had nothing to do with the creative process.

Like what about Nickalodian they canceled Zoey 101 after Jamie Lynn's pregnancy surfaced.
Nothing is really truly for kids anymore. SO much stuff not for young eyes is being advertised along with it, and the so called kiddie entertainers are guilty of this too. Pure crap is now marketed towards kids/teens nowadays, I wish real material was used. It's really sad.
