I noticed this post on a bulletin on MySpace and wanted to respond to set the record straight.
Myspace 2 coming soon Tom is in debt..... Payin for myspace The rumor is true. with all the fines and licenses tom has become in debt. n addition tom needs to clear the overly crowded site. We apoligize fot the let down, but starting January 6 , 2009, myspace members will be charged 22.50 per month But there is something you can do . A petition, we will track this bulletin , And for Everyone who reposts it will recieve a code for the first two years of myspace 2 Free. This is no joke. We have tried our hardest to keep this from happening. myspace 2 coming January 6, 2009 to get the free code, repost this bulletin as " myspace 2 " and look in your message box within a Week.
I am in no way connected to MySpace other than the fact that we use it to spread our community. I do however wish to inform our Nimrods that MySpace 2 is a hoax.
The fact is that there have been e-mails sent out like this since way before MySpace. And here is a link to the history of it.
If you look closely, the exact same message that is being passed around is listed to have appeared since 2006... meaning that last september would have been when this change was implemented.
Trust me, being a webmaster I know that if I had a message like that, I would e-mail everyone, not pass around a post like that.
